Inside Look

Thank you church family for continually reaching out to people throughout the community with your involvement and generosity. Together, we donated 225 pounds of candy and had 65 people decorate their car trunks for 400 of our neighbors. We also have more than 140 Thanksgiving baskets that will be hand-delivered to families in the community.

So, what’s next? Imagine the front of the Worship Center overflowing with groceries for our community. Or imagine giving a box of food to a family that is not sure where their next meal is coming from. What about delivering a couch or dining room table to a family getting a fresh start amidst a difficult season? Or unloading firewood a family will use to heat their home this winter. Imagine the excitement and surprise on the face of a child receiving a Christmas gift when they expected there to be none. We need you to make these a reality. Below are opportunities for you to get involved and help our community:

  • The Great Food March is this Wednesday, November 21 at 6:30 pm during the Thanksgiving Eve Service. Bags for the march are available in the lobby.
  • Food from the Food March gets sorted and fills boxes distributed monthly by our Feed Salem team. Feed Salem kicks off in December.
  • The Furniture Bank team collects the like-new furniture you donate and takes it to neighbors in the community on Saturday mornings.
  • Tree of Giving tags are on a Christmas tree in the lobby, while supplies last. Gifts go to students from our partner schools Grant, Highland and Parrish.
  • RORS (Royal Order of Red Suspenders) prepares and delivers wood to families throughout the area each weekend.

Each of these ministries is in the lobby all weekend with more information. Please stop by (or visit the Salem Alliance website) for details for volunteering and items needed. Be part of what’s next, and watch Salem continue to become a City at Peace with God.
